After the cold dark days of winter, spring almost assaults the garden back to life with fresh verdant growth and an embarrassment of colour. Marrying in spring offers all the promise of spring itself with spring flowers marking the beginning of a new season with hope and expectation for the year (and life) ahead.
Spring bulbs provide me with the most marvelous drifts of colour, basketsful of elaborate tulips and narcissus and armfuls of fruit blossoms. Spring flowers can pack quite a punch, with strong and vibrant colours, however can be equally soft and romantic with the forms of ranunculus and delicate fritillary. One doesn’t need a reason to love spring but if one did it would have to be the explosion of flowers.
